Welcome Science Fair Students!

Want to make a difference in the world? You can!

  • Invent solutions and help solve real-world problems in the environment, energy, healthcare and more.
  • Add a strong component to your resume and college application.
  • Compete for $500,000 in scholarships and prizes awarded each year, including two Patent Awards - legal expenses to patent your design!
  • Be Recognized - spend the weekend with 400 off the most talented high school students and the "best of the best" projects in scientific research and engineering design in Massachusetts.

The Massachusetts State Science & Engineering Fair is the Commonwealth’s largest pre-college science competition providing an annual forum for over 400 students from almost 100 Massachusetts high schools to showcase their independent research and compete for over $500,000 in awards.  Held each year on the campus of the world famous Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MSSEF unites top young scientific and engineering minds where over 300 individuals from the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) professional and academic sectors review and judge students’ research projects.
